ERNET has recently established information hubs and e-linkage of 200 Krishi Vigyan Kendras under the Indian council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) located in remote and rural areas of the country. The farmers get access to services like net-meeting, video-conferencing and online consultancy in addition to information on local weather, market prices, relevant technologies, and details on government schemes. Access to the KVK’s website also provides information on important events in the region through e-newsletters and bulletins. ERNET India has also initiated setting up a centralized Data centre for 274 ICAR Institutes connected on ERNET.
