Registration Process

  • Check availability for the desired domain name
  • Review the Domain naming conventions/Guidelines and ensure that the desired domain name complies with the conventions
  • Review the POLICY of Domain Name Registration
  • THE REGISTRANT'S REPRESENTATIONS

     By applying to register a domain name, or by asking Registrar to maintain or renew a domain name registration, the Registrant represents and warrants to the Registrar that:

  • The statements that the Registrant made in the Registrant's Application Form for Registration of Domain Name are complete and accurate;
  • To the Registrant's knowledge, the registration of the domain name will not infringe upon or otherwise violate the rights of any third party;
  • The Registrant is not registering the domain name for an unlawful purpose; and
  • The Registrant will not knowingly use the domain name in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

    It is the Registrant's responsibility to determine whether the Registrant's domain name registration infringes or violates someone else's rights.

Who can apply Public and Private educational institutions, Primary and Secondary Schools, Government and Private Colleges, Professional and Vocational Institutes, Universities
Requirements A formal request on the letterhead of the institute duly signed by the head of the institution. Along with the letter, payment has to be sent through D.D payable at ERNET India, New Delhi. The Domain registration process would be initiated only after receiving the payment, letter and online registration form given in this website below.

Who can apply Research Institutes
Requirements A formal request on the letterhead of the institute duly signed by the head of the institution. Along with the letter, payment has to be sent through D.D payable at ERNET India, New Delhi. The Domain registration process would be initiated only after receiving the payment, letter and online registration form given in this website below.

Domain Name should confirm to the syntax.

 

  • DOMAIN REGISTRATION / RENEWAL CHARGES

       Rs 750 per domain for one year and 
      Rs 1350 per domain for two years 
      Rs 3000 per domain for five year
     

  • In case Domain is not renewed before the date of expiry, the domain will be deleted and an additional amount of Rs. 1000/- will be charged for restoration.
  • The domain Registration/Renewal charges have to be sent separately for each domain, through a Demand Draft in favour of ERNET India payable at Delhi. Combined payment for Registration/Renewal of two or more domains will not be accepted.
  • Receipt against payment of domain registration/renewal will be issued after receiving of payment and registration/renewal of domain.
  • The Domain registration charges both for the new and renewal accounts will be collected in advance.
  • Payment has to be sent along with the letter, through D.D. in favour of ERNET India, payable at New Delhi at the following address:
