Information Security Education & Awareness (ISEA)-Phase II

Information Security Education & Awareness (ISEA) is a MeitY funded project with the duration of 5 years (2015-20), ERNET India is one of the implementing agency for the Govt. officials training. The project objective is capacity building in the area of Information Security to address human resource requirement in the country by training of government personnel, creation of mass information security awareness, creating a national repository of courses in Information Security  to design countermeasures against various types of attacks. 
 
This project envisages training of 1.14 lakh persons through formal/non formal courses & 5200 Govt. officials through direct training programs over the period of 5 years. The govt. official training includes 2-day basic training, 3-day advanced training and 1 week higher level training program. 

 ERNET India has organized 12 training programs in which 299 Government officials have been trained in Tamilnadu and Karnataka regions. Recently, a 5-day Certified IoT Security Professional (CIoTS) training program was conducted jointly with International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) on 16th - 20th December 2019. 

The training program covered topics on Information & Network Security, Smart Grid Security, IoT Security and relevant hands on session for the benefit of Government officials. The participants came from various Government organizations like Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Commissionerate of Municipal Administration (CMA), Tamilnadu Electricity Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO), National Institute of Ocean Technology(NIOT), National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and India Meteorological Department (IMD), Airport Authority of India (AAI), National Informatics Centre (NIC), Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM), Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MPRL), Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), Electronics Corporation of Tamilnadu (ELCOT), CSIR - Madras, Tamilnadu Arasu cable TV (TACTV), and Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL).
